To all who shall govern the People of The United States Of America,
One of the earliest, profound, and most eloquent expressions of democracy can be found within the Declaration of Independence. This document’s discourse starts off with commentary about the necessity of dissolving political bands with those who hold autocratic self-interest without regard to the will of the people. In the case of our country, it is not our desire to abolish the institution. It is in the interest of the further establishment and promotion of this enterprise that we write to remind us all of the basic democratic nature that makes our organization exceptional.
Just for a moment, let us consider the etymology of the word democracy. The root portion “demos” is generally accepted to mean people or the common people. The remainder of this word “cracy” is derived from the word kratos. Literally, this means rule or strength. When we assemble both parts of the word we discover that democracy literally means rule by the strength and determination of the common individual in assembly. Each member of this assembly is assigned the rights of expression as a fundamental right of humanity. The exercise of expression is the basis for the function of all democracy. Without such expression no democracy exists.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

“It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried” - Winston Churchill.
It is possible that Winston Churchill had no real complaint about the fundamentals of democracy. It's very likely that Churchill's real message is that democracy implemented through politics suffers many of the same perils that we have experienced since the dawn of time. Truly democratic speech and progress stops when the government takes on the belief that there is a barrier, distance, or distinction between those who govern and those who are governed. It is at the moment of this disparity that the Declaration of Independence confirmed that it is the right of the people to abolish and Institute new government laying its foundation on such principals.
It is with this understanding that, we the members of our federation may see need to execute the, "right of the people to alter or abolish and to institute new government laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.” For some of us there is a belief that there is cause for concern about our governing bodies.
At times it would seem that those who govern have no doubt in our potential for disability and often little belief in our very positive ability. This is the core and most offensive system of beliefs that propagates political fervor.
Mere political fervor, achieves nothing and is a great strike in the face of the democracy of which it should support. So on the basis of this right of the people to alter the government, we wish to encourage you, our leaders, to alter your attention from politics.
It is within this very moment that we have the opportunity to change from a state where we fight ‘against’ each other to a state that fights ‘for’ each other. We shall never be stronger, never be better, or never lack peace. If we truly follow the great freedom of expressions and traditions of democracy. This was Declared true before the union was formed. Let it continue and grow.
